Anita Peters-White Named General Manager/Club Coordinator and Niul Bird as Acting Technical Director

BIFC announced today that Anita Peters-White has been appointed the new General Manager & Club Coordinator. Anita extends her current role as Club Coordinator to take on the General Manager role. In addition, Niul Bird will be taking on the Technical Director role in an acting capacity, as well continuing his existing role as President of the BIFC Board. Both of these roles are taking over the responsibilities that Morgan Quarry very successfully delivered upon prior to Morgan's departure at the start of the year. The BIFC Board would like to Thank Morgan for his commitment and level of professionalism he brought to BIFC for many years, and continue to wish him well in his new role with Burnaby FC.

Anita has a background in Human Resource Management and Executive Management consulting. She moved to Bowen in 2020 with her husband and two daughters and became involved with BIFC when her girls joined the U12 Girls team, and she became Team Manager. Anita took on the role of Club Coordinator in 2021, and has seamlessly helped run the operations side of BIFC, as well as continuing to be Team Manager for the U13 Girls team this past year.

“I have enjoyed working with the coaches, players and getting to know the soccer community of Bowen. As Club Coordinator I have learned much about BIFC operations and feel my experience is a good fit for the GM position to continue to expand our programming and improving our processes.” said Peters-White. “I look forward to extending my role as GM with the TD, Board, Coaches, Managers, Players and Members of BIFC.”

Niul comes to BIFC with a lifetime of soccer experience having played Youth and Adult soccer in Ireland, as well as Adult soccer in the Mainland. This included a stint at being President of an Adult Soccer Club in Vancouver with 4 mens teams and 2 womens teams. Niul moved to Bowen Island in 2018 with his family, and actively started to participate in BIFC programs through coaching his son Cillian's Mini house and Youth team, as well as managing the BIFC Adult Program.

"I was pleasantly surprised by the level of soccer and engagement within the community that BIFC has on Bowen Island. It has been great to see how BIFC punches above its weight in terms of the programs we offer, and it has been a pleasure to be part of that both from a Board and soccer perspective." said Niul Bird. "I look forward to taking on the TD role and continuing to ensure BIFC is a Quality Soccer Provider."
