As our programming expands - BIFC will be entering teams in the BCCSL this upcoming season at Under-13 level - we are in need of referees. The Club fully covers the cost of certification and pays each referee a stipend for each game they officiate.
The Club currently has six referees at the Small-sided level (U9-U12) and we are actively looking to add referees at both the Small-sided level and the Entry Level (U13 - U18). We currently have no referees at the Entry level and each game at U13 requires a referee and two ARs.
BIFC has partnered with BC Soccer to set up a certification process for both Small-sided and Entry-level applicants. All those interested must be able to attend the webinars (zooms) scheduled as well as the on-field component. Adults are also welcome to register.

Small Sided (Applicants enrolling in Small Sided Clinics must be 12 years of age on or before December 31st of the current year)
- for U9 to U12 league games
Webinar 1 (zoom): Wednesday, August 3 - 6:00 -8:00 pm
Webinar 2 (zoom): Thursday, August 4 - 6:00 - 8:00 pm
On Field: Saturday, August 20 - 10:00 - 12:00 at BICS
Entry Level (Applicants enrolling in Small Sided Clinics must be 12 years of age on or before December 31st of the current year)
- for U13 and older league games
Webinar 1 (zoom): Friday, August 5 - 6:00 - 8:30
On Field: Saturday, August 20 - 12:30 - 4:00 pm at BICS
If you are interested in becoming a BIFC Referee please email GM@bowenfc.com and you will be provided with a link to the BC Soccer Referee Centre to register for certification as well as the code to enter as BIFC will cover the costs.
It is essential we recruit referees to support our on island programs.
