Bowen Island FC announced today its bursary program has been provided with $2500 in funding by the Bowen Island Community Foundation.
The Club has had a bursary program since its inception in 2009 in order to help ensure any youth player who wanted to play soccer on island would not be deprived of the opportunity for financial reasons. The Club has always set aside funds to support this initiative. In 2021 the Club reached out to the Bowen Island Community Foundation to support this program in an effort to increase the amount available in the expectation of increased requests for bursaries due to Covid-19.
"We are very grateful to the Foundation for their generous support of our bursary program," said BIFC co-President Andrea Bastin. "We take great pride in providing programming for a very wide range of people in our community and this will help us ensure that no one opts to not participate due to financial restrictions at a time when many families on Bowen are suffering."
If you or someone you know is in need of financial help to offset the cost of soccer training on Bowen, please take advantage of this opportunity, BIFC is truly committed to providing soccer training for all youth on Bowen.
