Bowen Island Football Club announced today it has received $8,000 in funding from the Bowen Health Foundation as part of the Foundation's efforts to assist community non-profit organizations to continue to deliver programs despite the challenges suffered from the effects of Covid-19.
The funds will be used to support BIFC programming over the next few months. The Club has been working within the provincial health authorities and following protocols laid out by VIASport and BC Soccer in order to provide much needed recreational activities for Bowen Island youth.
"The Club is extremely grateful and appreciative of the support we have received from Bowen Health", stated BIFC president Andrea Bastin. "This generous contribution will go a long way in helping us provide the much needed outdoor activities so many Bowen Island children need at this time and we want to thank the Bowen Health Foundation for helping us provide this opportunity."
BIFC winter programming is provided in partnership with the Bowen Island Health Centre Foundation and is supported by the Government of Canada’s Emergency Community Support Fund , Community Foundations of Canada, and the Bowen Island Community Foundation.
