Last month we lost a true legend of BIFC. Burns Jennings was an absolutely key figure behind the establishment of our club and the facilities we are extremely lucky to be able to enjoy. He'll always be remembered for everything that he did for us, and we'll miss his extraordinary personality and ability to make big things happen. Our thoughts go out to his family at this time.
Below are some words from his close friend, and fellow BIFC founding member Morgan Quarry.

Without Burns Jennings, there would be no Bowen Island Football Club.
Without his passion and commitment there would be no athletic turf field on Bowen Island.
Without his vision there would be no adult co-ed league, academy or adult programming on Bowen Island.
Without his dedication, time and energy, hundreds of Bowen youth would not have been able to benefit from the infinite benefits which come from playing sports and being on a team.
Without his skill, knowledge and expertise, dozens of players would not have gone on to play at the highest levels including BCSPL, college, university and youth national teams.
Without his determination (and chainsaw), the grass field would still have wooden posts and would not have been expanded to its present size.
Without Burns Jennings the friendships, joy, laughter, camaraderie, and community building nourished on the Bowen playing fields, ferry rides and away games over the last 18 years would not have happened and the lives of countless Bowen Islanders would have been the lesser for it.
Thanks for everything Burns.
