An important part of the club, that often doesn't get the credit that they deserve are our young referees. In recent weeks we've had feedback from several other clubs, complimenting the job that our referees did and how they handled their decision making and communication.
Our referees do an incredible job, giving up their time every weekend to help grow soccer, provide a safe and fun environment for our young players, and represent the club. We couldn't be prouder of the work that they do for us. They also provide strong leadership and act as positive role models to our younger players, we're incredibly fortunate to have them and love to see them get the recognition they deserve.

Will Namuk who has been with the club since he could first kick a ball says that 'through refereeing I've learned to be more confident and assertive on the field. Bowen is such a lovely place for developing footballers in the way we provide such a great environment for young kids to develop and learn.
Developing young players and offering them for a lifelong love of soccer is a
key goal for BIFC, and something that we love to see resonating through the community. As Will says, 'the best thing about BIFC is the community. I've always felt a deep sense of connection and closeness to everyone at the club'.

Our referees are paid $25 for Turf Field games and $40 per Grass Field Game making it an ideal role for aspiring players looking to grow their leadership skills.
