Spring Programming Registration Now Open

Bowen Island FC is excited to announce the launch of its completely redesigned web site at bowenfc.com to coincide with the opening

of our registration for spring programming.

Registration for Mini House, Academy and Adult Recreational and 5-A-Side Spring Leagues as well as Rugby opens March 1, 2021 to all members and new members. All spring programming is scheduled to begin the week of April 5.

The newly-designed web site features a number of new sections and pages designed to provide parents, players, coaches and managers with all the information they need to know about the Club as we enter our 12th year. We have added sections with details on all of our programming with easy links to registration and our new online store as well as a comprehensive resources section, useful FAQs and a calendar of events.

COVID-19

Soccer in the province is currently at Phase 1 which calls for social-distanced (3-metres apart) training. It is possible we will move back to Phase 2 (limited contact allowed) but at this time we do not know if and when this could happen. As we have always done, BIFC will strictly adhere to the protocols laid out by the PHO, BC Soccer and viaSport. These can be found here.

MINI HOUSE (U5 - U8)

Bowen Island FC intends to offer Mini House Spring programming from U5-U8 with one training session during the week after school and games on Saturday mornings (assuming we are in Phase 2 otherwise we will continue with socially-distanced training.

ACADEMY (U9-U14)

The BIFC Academy program is resuming in April with Academy Spring which is open to all BIFC Youth Team players (2008s to 2012s) as well as a few selected players from our recent alumni. It is designed to provide extra training for those who desire it and focusses on skill development through possession-based sessions, focussing on ball mastery, 1v1 defending and attacking, evasive dribbling, shooting, shielding the ball, receiving the ball on the "back foot" as well as fitness, speed and agility work.

RUGBY (13-19)

We are pleased to once again offer rugby on Bowen to our community teenagers at the BICS grass field. We will be offering an 8-week Spring program with two sessions a week beginning the week of April 5, 2021.

ADULT REC AND 5-A-SIDE LEAGUES

Currently all sport programming for those 22+ is restricted. However should these restrictions be lifted we intend to offer our Adult co-ed leagues. We were able to run a very successful and popular Adult Rec League under Phase 2 restrictions in the Fall and our hope is to be able to do so again this Spring.

***If you wish to play, and to allow us to coordinate teams and schedules in advance, please register and choose the "pay offline" option. We will collect payment when we get the green light***
